Wisbech Green Build Site Update (2)
We are excited to update you further regarding the progress from our in-construction school site at Barton Road, Wisbech.
The new building is starting to take shape, with a fantastic Sports Hall and Vocational area to really grow the curriculum we have on offer for Wisbech Green students.
Alongside separate Key Stage 3 and 4 teaching blocks, we have a Therapy wing, a state-of-the-art kitchen [pictured] and a huge outdoor space for sports activities and relaxing with friends during breaks.
We also have the MUGA underway, a hard standing area for sporting activities. This new school building is going to transform the education our pupils at Wisbech receive.
Solar panels on the roof support our Eco School ethos, and you can see a central area here that in the future will be green space where pupils will be guided in growing plants and vegetables as part of their Outdoor Education. Our plan for this site is that it will be a “Net Zero” school – powered by electricity only.
You can see that the site will offer beautiful views of the local area, making it a stand-out environment inside and out.
Horizons Education Trust and the whole Team at Riverside Meadows Academy, Wisbech Green led by Co-Head Teacher Chris Carey, are very excited about this project and the real benefits it can bring the pupils and their families.
