Artistic Success in Cambridgeshire Young Artist Competition for St Neots
One of our Riverside Meadows - St Neots pupils has found success in the CAYAC) Cambridgeshire Young Artist Competition). Nadia submitted work under creative textiles, and won a prize for her hand painted and transfer print t-shirt expressing transgender rights.
Head Teacher, Andrew Armstrong shares, "Art is an incredibly therapeutic form of expression and communication. Many of our learners at Riverside Meadows Academy use art as a medium to address emotional issues that they may otherwise find confusing and distressing. They are able to open up to a safe person whilst keeping their hands and minds occupied with the art process itself. Staff and students also use art as a well-being tool with many of our staff members accomplished artists or crafts people.
We are incredibly proud of Nadia’s achievement in Art and hope that it will go on to inspire other young artists to become involved with creative subjects."
Congratulations Nadia!
